ARC product

Ashwagandha (7% withanolides)

300 mg
Wind down

A highly standardised ashwagandha extract — in a 60-day randomised controlled trial, associated with a 23% reduction in morning cortisol vs placebo.1

Magnesium Bisglycinate

750 mg (148 mg elemental Mg)
Deep sleep

Magnesium bisglycinate — chosen for its superior absorption — contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and to normal psychological function.2

L-Theanine

500 mg (200 mg active L-theanine)
Wind down

An amino acid studied for its role in promoting alpha-wave brain activity — relaxed alertness without drowsiness.

Apigenin

50 mg
Wind down

A flavonoid from chamomile, studied for its interaction with GABAergic pathways and positively associated with sleep quality in population research.

P5P (Vitamin B6)

2.5 mg
Morning clarity

The active, immediately bioavailable form of B6 — a required cofactor in serotonin synthesis. Contributes to normal psychological function and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.3

The overnight cycle

Three phases. One formula.

Wind down

L-theanine promotes alpha-wave brain activity: the relaxed state that eases the transition into sleep1. Apigenin has been studied for its interaction with GABAergic pathways associated with relaxation2. Ashwagandha, taken daily, supports cortisol regulation over time creating the conditions that make winding down easier night after night3.

Deep sleep

Magnesium bisglycinate supports the conditions for deep, restorative sleep. In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, magnesium supplementation significantly improved sleep efficiency and reduced sleep onset latency compared to placebo.4 Magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.5

The science

Elevated evening cortisol works against deep sleep.

Ashwagandha (7% withanolides)

Studied for cortisol regulation

Elevated evening cortisol disrupts the body's natural wind-down process. ARC delivers 300mg of ashwagandha standardised to 7% withanolides — 21mg of active withanolides per serving. A 2023 systematic review found significant serum cortisol reductions at 300mg/day using extracts with lower withanolide concentrations than ARC's formula.

Why no melatonin?

because your body already knows how to make it.

Supplementing exogenous melatonin may suppress your body's own production over time. P5P — the active form of vitamin B6 — is a required cofactor in the pathway your body uses to synthesise serotonin, a precursor of melatonin.

RCT

Ashwagandha and cortisol regulation

A 2023 systematic review of 300mg/day ashwagandha reported a 29.87% reduction in serum cortisol, using extracts delivering 15mg withanolides/day. ARC's formula provides the same dose at 7% standardisation — 21mg withanolides/day, above the effective threshold in both the review and a supporting RCT (Majeed et al., 2023).

Clinical study

Magnesium and sleep quality

In a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, magnesium supplementation significantly improved sleep efficiency, sleep onset latency and serum melatonin vs placebo. Confirmed by meta-analysis of 3 RCTs.

EEG study

L-Theanine and alpha-wave brain activity

Multiple EEG studies confirm L-theanine supports the increase alpha-wave brain activity: the pattern associated with relaxed alertness without drowsiness.

Mechanistic

Apigenin and GABAergic pathways

A flavonoid found in chamomile and citrus, studied for its interaction with GABAergic pathways. Human studies using chamomile extract report positive effects on relaxation. Dietary apigenin intake positively associated with sleep quality in large population research.

Common questions

  • How long before I notice a difference?

It depends on the ingredient. Apigenin and L-theanine work quickly and most people notice a difference within the first few days. Magnesium and P5P build over 1–2 weeks. Ashwagandha takes 3–4 weeks to fully establish. Give ARC one complete 30-day cycle.

  • Why no melatonin?

Melatonin tells your body what time it is — it doesn't improve how you sleep. Nightly supplementation can dampen your own production over time. ARC works differently.

  • Can I take ARC if I'm already on medication?

Always speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking ARC alongside prescription medication — particularly thyroid medications, immunosuppressants, or sedatives.

  • Can I take ARC during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

We don't recommend ARC during pregnancy or breastfeeding as ashwagandha has limited safety data in pregnancy. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use.

  • Are the capsules suitable for vegans?

Yes. Our formulation is vegan-friendly from capsule to contents.
